T-6 . . .

Well here I am . . . 6 days away from the first project . . . and already I have a page FULL of ideas

I first of all want to give you a bit of history . . . I'm sure of one thing I have had a passion since a young age . . .

At the age of 5 I was learning to knit . . . I learned to crochet in the second grade from my teacher . . . I think my Mom thought I was going to get into trouble if I didn't have enough to do so she had me take  lessons after school!  It created a spark in me - I quit thinking about school (thanks Mom) and started to create things in my mind and then try and make them.  Take note I have not been given a hammer yet!

At 12 I was sitting at the sewing machine mending clothes for my younger brothers (and taking a bra "IN" because it was too big) . . . Auntie M will contest to that one.

By 15 I was sewing my own clothes (the first of which was my high school uniform because it was less expensive to have me do it than have to pay full price for it on Mom's meager earnings) - so it was a grey vest and skirt that I'm sure was WAY too short but it was in "style" and I got what I wanted.  That year I also made two blouses to go with the uniform (a blue one and a mauve one) with puffy sleeves and a bit bow tie under the neck) at least I was covered from the thighs up!

By the time I was 16/17 I was in full blown heaven . . . I made costumes and painted faces for Halloween and the January after I turned 18 I was working and altering all of my clothes for my 5'2" height.

In 1978 I turned 23 and a whole new ball game arrived - a baby girl - whom I am SO proud of . . . talk about Halloween costumes - she always had the best and the most creative (remember the spider costume made out of black tights Kristen?)

It's  now 34 years later and my passion continues - I have started this blog because I realized one day that I am ALWAYS DOING SOMETHING so I'm going to keep track this year of it all.

Cya in 6 days (or so)

52 Projects for 2013

I've made a commitment to post 52 projects in 52 weeks (maybe with a couple of mini/bonus projects in between).  I'll post every Saturday morning unless I'm out of town or the computer just isn't working.  I look forward to all of your comments and if you have questions or need clarification please feel free to contact me!

Regards,
Lynne
