And the Door is painted . . .

I love spring.  The first thing I ALWAYS plan to do is paint the front door, and there's usually no dilemma what colour because I'm already thinking about what it's going to be next year THIS year!  I'm such a planner!

Prep work is not one of my strengths! I'm a really sloppy painter but I do manage to trim out the door with painters tape the best I can and I TRY and remember to put down a drop cloth on the floor but that doesn't always happen so when I went to paint the door this year I could see little droplets of paint from a couple of years past LOL.

Here's the before (AKA 2012)!

Here's the new door!

Benjamin Moore Pumpkin Blush 2156-20 . . . Orange is "in"!

Next year hmmmmmmmmmm!

TOTAL COST:  $18.00
TOTAL TIME:  4 HOURS

Oh and it inspired the neighbour to paint hers too . . . FREE . . . she used the same paint I used for the wide strip in the living room.

  1. Love the door colour, but what was the difference on the neighbour's door. Was it a horizontal stripe? Couldn't see it that clearly.

  2. ya - bad lighting - the exterior door (not the screen door) was painted teal blue - the screen door distorts the colour a bit . . . but that shouldn't deter you from painting your front door if you have one - I have a phantom screen door and when it's closed the door does not look as vibrant!
